Priced Out of Paradise

Documentary · Directed by Annie & Sam Menendez · Written & produced by Sam Menendez · Produced & executive produced by Annie Menendez · An Apollo Studios production · Coming soon

Hawaii has been a popular visitor destination for more than a century. Since the pandemic, the islands have become a victim of their own success as ‘One-Percenters’ keep buying homes there.

Owning a home is one of the most important contributors to building economic security and an essential part of the American dream. But with median prices for a single-family home topping $1.1 million on Oahu, owning a home, and gaining the financial stability that can go with it, is simply out of reach for most people.
